How to applyThe Cité Scolaire Voltaire is a Parisian public middle school (collège) and high school (lycée) located in the 11th arrondissement of the French capital. The Collège Voltaire opened its English-speaking Section — the Section Internationale Britannique, or SIB — in 2021, offering a free bilingual curriculum taught by dedicated native English-speaking teachers. It is one of six public middle schools in Paris that offer an SIB.
6–8 hours of English language and literature per week, plus 1h30 of history-geography taught in English from 6e to 3e.
Dedicated, native-English-speaking instructors for English literature and English history-geography.
Students come from across Paris and its suburbs, with most based in North and East Paris. Many, but not all, are bilingual, and come from international families.
SIB students sit additional English exams at the end of collège, earning their Brevet with the mention "option internationale".
Previous initiatives and events have included trips to London, Normandy, the Beauville Arts musical workshop, Halloween flashmobs, theatre outings, and more.
The parents' association connects SIB families and the school. We answer parents' questions and participate in the annual Conseil de la Section Internationale (CSI) alongside faculty and the Rectorat. We also organise extra-curricular events — picnics, film screenings, and a pré-rentrée coffee.
